Carrot Cake Smoothie
Enjoy this Carrot Cake Smoothie for a high-fiber treat any time of day.
So many people forget that veggies can be added into smoothie to help boost up fiber and nutritional quality. And spinach isn’t the end all, be all when it comes to veggies you can add to your smoothies. This Carrot Cake Smoothie is a perfect way to combine veggies into smoothies that go outside of the traditional “spinach in smoothies” recommendation to get some veggies into your morning.

Carrot Cake Smoothie
Get a boost of fiber from the carrots, walnuts, oats, and flaxseed in this simple smoothie. One food staple I tend to keep around a lot in my fridge is pre-shredded carrots I buy at my local grocery store. While I primarily buy them for salads, they’re also a nice addition to add into smoothies and other baked items for added sweetness.

Getting Nutty
While I love traditional dairy milk, sometimes I like to play with different milk alternatives due to their flavor profiles. You can absolutely use non-fat dairy milk in this recipe. Since carrot cake tends to have walnuts in it, I wanted to play up that flavor by using walnut milk. My personal favorite is Elmhurst 1925 Milked Walnuts – it has an amazing sweet flavor to it. You can use their Unsweetened version as well, but you may have to add in a little sweetener to this smoothie (like a little maple syrup) if you prefer a little sweeter flavor. You can find Elmhurst 1925 Milked Walnuts at Thrive Market AND get 30% off your first order on top of their discounted prices.
